Who Am I?

A Brief History Lesson…

Once upon a time there was a girl who’s dad put on a Knicks game at age 5, and her world changed forever. Sounds dramatic, but it’s kind of true. That girl was me (duh!) Though the Knicks never quite blossomed into anything great after their run in the 90s, a love for sports certainly did! After graduating from the University at Albany (Go Great Danes!) with a journalism degree in 2009, I soon realized that this degree had set me up for a life of waitressing or developing photos at a pharmacy, so I put the dream of sportswriting on hold in search of a job that would pay the bills.

In early 2010, I founded “Caitlin Says” which was a great outlet for me to voice my opinion on sports, pop culture, current events, and sometimes even politics. As the “real job” intensified, my posting became less and less frequent.

My goal with New York State of Sports, a new blog launched June 2014 is to really focus on posting more frequently and tailoring what I write to what I love most: sports in New York with a few personal dishes here and there. I may be a bit biased… but there is really nothing like it!

So, without further ado, here is my commentary. Enjoy, debate, comment. Just don’t be a jerk!
